St. Stephen’s Vestry

The vestry is the board of elected lay members who assist the priest-in-charge in attending to the life of the parish. This includes financial stewardship, management of facilities, and hiring/calling of new employees. They meet on second Tuesdays at 6:30 in the parish hall. Parishioners are welcome to attend. Reach out to the parish office to be put into contact with one of the vestry members.

Called to be a church that looks like Jesus

We are called, with God’s help, to follow Jesus, and to be a source of transformation and Christian hope and inspiration to those within our community through worship, formation, and discipleship. St. Stephen’s invites and calls new congregational servant leaders to a life of service. Our community strives to be a safe and inclusive congregation where those who are vulnerable can experience life in Christ, fully alive.

Our Guiding Values

We are committed to being a faith-centered community through giving, sharing, + following God’s Word.

We value love and respect within our community and for those beyond our community.

We value inclusion and hospitality by respecting all who enter in worship with our church family, striving to meet individual needs.

We value action through adaptive response to our changing environment: Where God calls us, we will go out to meet Him.

We value intergenerational contributions of those in our community’s past and those for the future.

We feel an urgency to go beyond the berm to engage where God is active in our wider community.

St. Stephen’s is part of a regional + global community of Christians

We are a part of the Episcopal Diocese of Spokane, which is the regional branch of the Episcopal Church in Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho. Episcopal means we are of Anglican heritage, led by bishops in communion with Archbishop of Canterbury, and bound by a common life of prayer. Find out more about the Episcopal Church, our beliefs, and more below:

We are a community for all!

As Episcopalians, we follow the life and example of Jesus. This means pursuing a loving, life-giving, and liberating way of being in all things. St. Stephen’s strives to be inclusive of all people, including the LGBTQ+ community. We are all made in God’s image and God loves each and every one of us uniquely. You are most welcome here to experience the sacramental life of the Christian church in its fullness.
